day 1 Giza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum And Khan El Khalili

Start your journey with an early morning flight from Hurghada to Cairo.

Upon arrival in Cairo, you’ll be greeted by Happy Egypt guide and driver who will accompany you throughout your tour.

The Giza pyramids and Sphinx:

The Giza plateau in the vast desert, the land of the dead. Guarded by the Great Sphinx, the plateau is dominated by the massive pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. To the south of the Great Sphinx, lie the cemetery and Town of the Pyramids Builders. Discover it in Egypt day tours.

The Giza pyramids are indeed remarkable feats of engineering. But the question is “Why the pyramids were constructed?”.

The pyramids were constructed in the 4th dynasty, but Giza remained important through the New Kingdom and the 3rd intermediate period.

There are so many theories about the techniques of the construction of the pyramids.

Notes: Tickets of entry inside the pyramids aren’t included.

The Egyptian Museum:

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is one of the largest museums in the world. It has more than 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in the storerooms.

There are two main floors in the museum, the ground floor, and the first floor. On the ground floor, there are some coins and papyri. As well there are some artifacts of the new kingdom. Those items include statues, tables, and coffins. Enjoy it with Happy Egypt.

On the first floor, there are some artifacts from the dynasties 29 and 30, with some items from the tombs of the Valley of the Kings, in particular the amazing treasure of King Tutankhamon.

Lunch: Enjoy a delicious Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample traditional dishes such as koshari, falafel, or grilled kebabs

Khan El Khalili:

Khan el Khalili is the largest bazaar and market in the Middle East. It represents the market tradition that established Cairo as a major trade center. Khan was located in the middle of Cairo, and some commercial establishments were built nearby.

There is a big collection of shops, workshops and coffee shops

day 2 Alexandria Tour

Your guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel to start your three-hour journey to Alexandria.

Alexandria is the second-largest city of Egypt with a population of more than 15 million people. It was the capital of Egypt during the Graeco-Roman period and the center of the Hellenistic civilization for about 500 years. During your Egypt day tour , you can visit attractions in Alexandria such as:

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa:

Archeologists believe that the Catacomb of Kom el Shoqafa was started in the 2nd century A.D. and was used to intern the dead for the next 200 years. This was a period in the history of the city of Alexandria when there was a great mixture of different cultures. Of course, there was the ancient history of the great Egyptian kingdoms which went back thousands of years. Also in 332 B.C. Alexander the Great had conquered the land, established the city of Alexandria and started a dynasty of Greek rulers who brought their own culture to the metropolis. Finally, in 31 B.C. the Romans took control of the city and added their traditions. Happy Egypt gives you the opportunity to know that

The Citadel of Qaitbay:

The citadel of Qaitbay was built in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Seif El-Din Qaitbay.

The citadel was built on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world.

Sultan Qaitbay was born in 1423 AD. He was a Mamluke bought by Al-Ashraf Bersbay. Then Sultan Djamqaq bought him and give him freedom. Qaitbay occupied various posts. He was the chief of the army during the rule of Sultan Tamar Bougha. When Sultan was dethroned, Qaitbay was appointed as a Sultan in 1468 AD and ruled for about 29 years.

Qaitbay was fond of art and architecture. The construction of this citadel started in 882 AH. Know more information during your trip to alexandria from Cairo.

It is a commemoration of the Library of Alexandria, which was lost in antiquity, and an attempt to revive something of the brilliance that this former center of study represented. The library was officially inaugurated in 2002. It contains books in Arabic, English, and French.

In 2010, the library received a donation of 500,000 books from the National Library of France.
